Founder of Skyhawk Ranch

I studied Anthropology with a minor in American Indian Studies, and that path ultimately led me to the Southwest—where I fell in love with New Mexico. During those years, I began collecting turquoise jewelry, regional cookbooks, and textiles from across the state. This was all before the internet, so I traveled extensively—exploring New Mexico and Arizona for turquoise, and Guatemala and Europe for textiles.
At 40, I was drawn into the world of horses through my daughter, who was deeply involved in riding. The western lifestyle blended seamlessly with my love of turquoise, and the three decades I spent riding, owning, and caring for horses remain some of the most treasured years of my life—especially sharing that time with my daughter.
Meanwhile, my passion for sourcing turquoise was taking off. Countless trips to Taos, Gallup, Albuquerque, and the small towns outside Santa Fe, as well as journeys through Nevada and Arizona, helped me build a rich and meaningful collection of Native jewelry. I had owned other jewelry boutiques before, but when I opened Skyhawk Ranch, everything came together.
When Skyhawk Ranch was born, I never looked back. My love of turquoise, western culture, and the people I’ve met along the way have all left a lasting impression. Creating this space felt completely natural—an extension of who I am.
I truly love what I do. It never feels like work—Skyhawk Ranch is simply part of my soul.
Turquoise, horses, my daughters… and the incredible, like-minded people I’ve met along the way—I’m so grateful for it all.
